Product Description
French Antique 19th Century Limestone Fireplace NA110-03.Y is a reclaimed piece originating from the Burgundy region. Its profile is defined by wide, rectangular legs and a deep header that creates a heavy architectural frame. The vertical jambs feature three deeply recessed channels of fluting, while the center of the header is detailed with a rectangular cartouche containing an interlaced guilloche pattern.
Ash-grey and pale sand tones blend across the textured mineral surface. The limestone displays its history through natural pitting, surface mottling, and blunted, eased edges along the stepped mantel shelf. These physical details emphasize the original hand-carved masonry.
Position this antique surround in a formal residence or a boutique hotel to create a permanent, sculptural center for the room. The top shelf serves as a generous stage for heavy sculptural pieces or large-scale art, allowing the firelight to catch the irregular, weathered face of the stone. The highly patterned header provides a rugged, historic counterpoint to sleek contemporary decor or flat plaster walls.
