Product Description
French Antique Limestone Trough SKU: FK102-57 occupies a corner with the dense, silent weight of a quarried block. Light catches on the heavily textured face, creating a grid of micro-shadows that softens the stone’s hard geometry. The color palette spans dusty bone and pale grey, warmed by patches of iron-rich rust and faint mineral staining.
The exterior carries a coarse, hand-pecked finish, leaving a tactile map of the mason’s point chisel. A distinct circular drainage hole punctures the thick sidewall, offering a utilitarian mechanical detail that breaks the solid form. The rim remains thick and uneven, worn smooth in places but retaining a jagged, irregular profile that feels raw to the touch.
Use this compact, deep vessel as a reservoir for a wall-mounted fountain, where the splash of water will darken the grey stone to slate. It works as a standalone planter for a small citrus tree or boxwood, framing the green leaves against the rough masonry. Indoors, it serves as a robust utility sink in a laundry room, capable of handling heavy use without showing wear.
Pair the trough with unlacquered brass fixtures that will tarnish and match the stone’s warm rust tones. Rough-sawn oak shelving amplifies the rustic texture, while smooth lime plaster walls provide a quiet, matte background. A floor of dark slate or bluestone grounds the pale limestone, emphasizing its brightness and volume.
