French Antique Limestone Octagonal Trough

The distinctive octagonal shape of this French antique limestone trough gives it a more architectural character than a traditional rectangular garden vessel. Its eight sided profile creates clean geometric lines around the substantial stone body, while the naturally aged limestone brings warmth and texture to the overall form. Two pieces are available, measuring approximately 51 1/4 inches and 52 inches in diameter, with both standing 34 inches high. The interior diameter measures approximately 40 1/4 inches, creating a generous central basin suitable for substantial planting or other landscape applications. The pieces are identified as SKU FV101 01.A and FV101 02.A.

The generous circular interior and elevated proportions make this antique octagonal limestone trough particularly effective as a focal point within a formal garden, courtyard, terrace, or entry landscape. Used as a limestone garden trough, it can accommodate layered greenery, flowering plants, or a sculptural arrangement while maintaining a strong architectural silhouette. Its geometric shape also works well alongside gravel paths, clipped hedges, aged masonry, and contemporary paving, creating a contrast between structured form and naturally weathered stone. As a reclaimed limestone planter, this French antique stone garden vessel brings the substantial presence of historic stonework into a landscape while offering a distinctive alternative to more conventional trough designs.
