Dark, organic staining heavily coats the inner walls, creating a sharp contrast against the pale, textured exterior.

The weathered stone provides a strong material contrast when positioned against smooth, dark glass panels. Resting the heavy base on a bed of fine white gravel immediately highlights the rusted, oxidized textures of the iron chain and winding mechanism. Flanking the well head with low, structural boxwood hedges emphasizes the rugged, hand-hewn character of the uneven bottom edge.

Positioned as the focal point of an entry courtyard, the heavy stone structure functions as a dramatic, standalone architectural element. Anchored over a subterranean reservoir, the hollow core allows for the seamless integration of a bubbling fountain jet to create a rhythmic water feature.
