Product Description
French Antique Limestone Pillar FK102-29.OA stands as a solid, 55-inch vertical block that defines the boundary of a room. Its heavy, square footprint physically separates space, creating a clear structural line at an entryway or garden path. The stone rises to a gently peaked cap, a functional detail that sheds rain and catches the sun on its angled planes.
Daylight exposes a palette of pale butter and dry parchment, dusted with grey weathering. The texture is open and porous, deeply pitted like coral or salt-worn rock, with ochre tones settling into the crevices. Rough, chipped edges soften the silhouette, and a single iron hook remains embedded in the side, marking the stone with a specific history of use.
Position these pillars to flank a driveway gate or mark the transition into a courtyard. At 19 inches wide, the top surface is substantial enough to support a lantern or a heavy stone planter. Indoors, use a single piece as a high, architectural plinth for a bust or vessel, lifting the object to eye level against a blank wall.
The coarse grain sits well against the smooth finish of hand-troweled plaster or the linear grain of oak flooring. Darkened steel or iron fixtures pick up the black tone of the embedded hardware. To emphasize the stone’s warmth, layer it near terracotta tiles and unbleached linen, allowing the beige and cream hues to stand forward.
