Product Description
French Antique 19th Century Limestone Mill SKU: FI102-17 is an agricultural artifact built from carved stone and forged iron. The foundation is a solid, rectangular block of heavily pitted, highly porous limestone in shades of ash grey and pale beige. A wide, deep channel is carved directly through the top center of this coarse base.
Suspended upright within this channel is a solid, circular grinding stone. In direct contrast to the rough, sponge-like texture of the foundation, the wheel features a tightly grained, smoothly worn surface. It is mounted on a heavily oxidized iron axle that pierces the center of the disc and extends outward into a bent hand crank, physically locking the round wheel into the static block.
Placing this intact mill in a courtyard, terrace, or wine cellar introduces a distinct, historical silhouette into a space. hat rigid geometric outline sets a massive, unrefined agricultural tool into a curated environment, instantly grounding a clean or newly built room with the authentic, physical weight of 19th-century labor.
