Product Description
French Antique 19th Century Wellhead SKU: FI102-18 is an upright, irregular stone block with a large circular opening through its center. A mix of pale bone, dusty beige, and heavy patches of dark mossy green covers the coarse surface. Dark metal strapping wraps horizontally around the left and right sides of the piece, while a single rusted iron pin protrudes directly from the upper section of one face.
Placed at the edge of a courtyard, the thick limestone serves as a robust backing for a ground-level catchment basin. Installed directly against a masonry wall, the wide center easily accommodates a high-volume iron water spout. Mounted over an underground cistern, the hollow core provides clear, open access to the water below.
Pairing the heavily eroded rock with a smooth glass panel emphasizes the deep gouges and severe weathering across its surface. Setting the jagged base on perfectly flat bluestone pavers highlights the completely uneven, organic cut of the bottom edge. Flanking the pale block with tall, dark evergreens provides a deep, shadowed background that contrasts sharply with the chalky white and dusty beige stone.
