Product Description
The French Antique 19th Century Limestone Wellhead FK101-20 is a square block featuring a deep, circular opening that reveals a rich interior patina of forest-green moss and aged mineral staining. The limestone radiates a palette of sun-faded cream, sand, and soft honey-gray highlights along the corners. Arched notches are visible at the base, creating a specific architectural silhouette that lifts the heavy form.
The exterior faces are matte and pebbled with fine pitting, their edges rounded into soft, irregular curves by over a century of exposure to the elements. Tucked away inside the circular opening are two small, mysterious holes—quiet artifacts of the stone's 19th-century history as a working part of the landscape. The thick stone rim is blunt and worn, featuring gentle undulations that catch the light in soft gradients.
Standing at 24 1/2" tall, this well head reaches table-height and provides a heavy, fixed center for a terrace or garden entry. The contrast between the rigid, blocky exterior and the deep, moss-lined interior creates a focal point that draws the gaze downward. Its 37 3/4" width allows it to function as a vessel for large-scale plantings or a rising water feature, bringing a weathered, architectural material into the landscape.
