French Antique Octagonal Labrouche Well

A French antique octagonal well in limestone, a stone wellhead with eight flat faces rather than the usual round ring. It is 47 1/4 inches across and 31 1/2 inches high, the second figure listed in our records as its thickness, which puts the rim a little below waist height. The octagonal form is less common than the round one, and this piece has the weathered surface, softened arrises and surface staining that a long life outdoors gives French limestone. We will send detailed photographs so you can see the faces and the condition of the rim.

It suits the center of a courtyard or a motor court, the crossing of paths in a formal garden, or a terrace where it can be plumbed as a fountain with the pump hidden inside.

The stone wellhead is in Marina Del Rey; see it by appointment, or ask for photographs and a quote.
